How long does the probate process take?

This is probably one of the most common questions I am asked when embarking on a new case for a client who is in the initial stages of winding up the estate of a recently deceased friend or family member.

In England, the probate process usually takes between 6-12 months, however, in recent times the pandemic has caused delays which are only now slowly starting to ease. The process is often quicker where the deceased has left a valid will, but this is not always the case.

If you have recently lost a loved one and are feeling daunted at the prospect of administering their estate, I can help walk you through the process sensitively and professionally. I, and my colleagues at Premier Solicitors, will do all we can to remove the burden and worry from you and ensure the process ensues without any unnecessary delays.
